MAKING THE SHORT LIST – INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNCATION SKILLS

“Style and substance are both important.
You must be able to talk with a vision – yet be to the point.”

Step Three - The search committee will favor someone that is down-to-earth and that encourages, leads discussions, and provides levels of autonomy to members of their team in decision making. Describe how you work collaboratively with all areas of the organization and seek feedback to make course adjustments as needed. This includes helping shape thought and influencing outcomes by bringing focus and building buy-in at the senior management levels, as well as relating to the lower level personnel to accomplish the same. Connect your energy and enthusiasm to what you are describing and display it during this meeting! In addition, highlight your ability to build consensus and influence groups that you have had no direct control over. How did you communicate the message through the relevant departments and get them to act?
