For Immediate Release:
Survey: Optimism Continues For Steady Business Conditions
DALLAS, Texas -- A recent survey conducted by Randall James Monroe, a Dallas-based global executive search consultancy, suggests that the majority of executives of major corporations are optimistic that business conditions will continue to improve for the next six months.
Survey results compiled for July 2007 indicate that executive optimism with regard to business conditions remains at a high level. This is reflected by 64% of executives believing conditions within their companies will improve during the last six months of 2007. However, this number is down from 68% twelve months ago, probably indicating a maturing of the current business cycle.
Healthcare executives showed the highest degree of optimism with 76% indicating that business conditions will improve over the next six months. This was followed by Telecom and Professional Services, both at 69%; Software/IT and Energy executives were next with 64%, Retail with 62% and Financial Services at 61%. Manufacturing executives reported the lowest optimism at 55%.
Optimism about executive hiring varies by industry. Overall, 28% of executives expect to increase hiring over the last six months of 2007 – down from 35% twelve months ago. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Telecom executives surveyed expect hiring to increase in the next six months, followed by Healthcare and Professional Services at 36%, Software/IT at 31%, Financial Services at 24%, Manufacturing at 23%, Energy at 22% with Retail lowest at 8%.
“The majority of executives continue to be confident in the business climate” noted Randall Neal, CEO of Randall James Monroe. “Overall, the results show that ninety percent (90%) of executives believe executive/senior level hiring will increase or stay the same and ninety-five percent (95%) feel their business will improve or maintain its current level during the last six months of 2007. Based on these numbers, you have the makings of a steady business climate that should sustain and support continued growth in the economy.”
The survey was emailed to approximately 1300 executives working with a cross section of companies throughout the country. Approximately 500 responses were registered. For more information about the survey, you may contact Randall James Monroe at 972-392-3200.
