Fast 50 Tech Titans Awards
TECH
TITANS Community Hero Award:
Abid
Abedi, Adea Solutions Inc.
The Community Hero Award recognizes an individual
within the technology industry for outstanding
achievements in community involvement.
Background: Adea Solutions is a business and
government solutions firm specializing in five
key practice areas: business consulting, customer
relationship management, business intelligence,
mobility and software development and integration.
What the judges considered: Abid Abedi is heavily
involved in the community, serving on numerous
boards and contributing to the community, both
financially and with his time. He is a board
member for the American Heart Association, North
Texas Commission, Dallas County Community College
Foundation, Dallas Museum of Art and the Greater
Dallas Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. He
also serves as a trustee for the Dallas Symphony
Orchestra; a charter member of the Dallas Chapter
of The Indus-Entrepreneurs; and on the advisory
board, School of Accountancy, University of
Missouri-Columbia.
Nominator comments: "The impact Mr.
Abedi has had on the community is difficult
to determine, since so many benevolent efforts
are not publicized. He donates time and money
per the above involvements and the results and
impacts of those contributions are reasonably
obvious. In addition, he has had an impact on
numerous lives by: funding scholarships for
10 full-time students in 2002 and 2003 for the
Dallas County Community College District; has
been involved in a collaborative working session
with high-ranking city and community leaders
led by the Foundation for Community Empowerment
to strengthen lower income families; contributed
personal computers, software and network infrastructure
for several organizations, including the Sunny
Acres Community Association serving lower income
individuals with computer skills training and
employment coaching; has made contributions
to numerous benevolent activities, religious
organizations and community initiatives."

TECH
TITANS Emerging Company Horizon Award:
Roxanne
Bigvand, BizDesign Software
The Emerging Company Horizon Award (companies
with less than 100 employees) recognizes outstanding
innovation and unique accomplishments through
potential breakthrough technology, processes
or services within the technology and communications
industry.
What the judges considered: With BizDesign's
software, any company with an Internet or Intranet
presence can share, manage and/or sell its digital
assets on demand and at a fraction of the traditional
price. This saves a company time and money and
eliminates the need for developing an in-house
or outsourced software solution. BizDesign's
customers have the ability to manage their digital
asset libraries from a centralized location,
allowing multi-location users to collaborate,
in a group setting, on the distribution of assets
throughout the enterprise and to clients throughout
the world.
Nominator comments: BizDesign's founders
established the company based upon principles
of quality, automation, simplicity and adaptability,
with an understanding it takes more than technological
prowess to create an industry standard product.
